  Alphabitty Moments - The Letters U & V

Welcome to Alphabitty Moments! This blog carnival was created by MamaBear at 4 The Love of Family as a fun way to document the little things taking place in our lives.

We were on vacation last week, so I'm playing catch up.

Last week was the letter 'U'.

**Warning** Gooey pictures ahead.

I chose to use Umbilical Cord for my letter U. When Little Man was born, the cord was around his neck twice. The parts of him that weren't deathly pale, were purple. My pregnant 17 year old niece was in the labor room with us, and she told me later she really thought he was dead. She was trying to decide what to say to me when I realized my baby had died!!

That same niece was also my photographer for the day. She took some great, although rather graphic, photos that I just love. I cropped some of those to post here today. I know there are parts of me that don't need to be put on the internet for the world to see. Although I did struggle for a letter 'V'......KIDDING!!

Notice how his skin and the doctor's glove are the same color, and how his little ear is purple! And there's a little of that pesky cord wrapped around his knee. That last picture is when the nurse was trying to get him to cry so he would "pink up".

Like I said, I did struggle to come up with something for the letter 'V', then I said, "What the heck, we were just on vacation. I love vacation." So vacation it is. I realized after I made my collage, that I had used some of the same pictures from 'O' for ocean, so I had to edit a little! I also realized that we love the beach so much, I could have used it for 'B' (beach), 'O' (ocean), 'S' (sand & sun), 'W' (water). You get the drift!

Now I'm heading to the
campground to catch up on what I missed over there!

  I ♥ Faces - I ♥ Feet

This week the folks at I ♥ Faces are focusing on feet.

I searched through all my pictures looking for a great shot of feet. I used one when I did the letter F in an
Alphabitty Moments post, and I considered using that one again. When I started playing around with this picture, I realized all the things it says to me, and I knew it was the one I wanted to use. Things to note about the photo:

* I did not tint this picture. It was taken as my Little Man was under the Bilirubin lights in the nursery at the hospital, thus the blue haze.

* Note how tiny his little bitty feet are compared to the
infant pacifier lying beside him.

* See the knee sticking up in the air? That was his very favorite position, and that knee was lodged in my rib cage for weeks before I had him.

* The band aids on his thigh and right heel remind me of all the times he was poked and prodded as his Bilirubin levels were checked over and over.

There are always some great pictures over at
I ♥ Faces. Go check it out!

Alphabitty Moments - The Letter T

Alphabitty Moments is a blog carnival created and hosted by MamaBear at 4 the Love of Family.

And yes, I'm late.

Again.

This week's Alphabitty Moments letter is 'T'.

I considered T for Testosterone because this boy is
all boy all the time. But in the end, I decided on T for Toddling. From the moment he took his first steps, this kid has been on the go almost constantly. Someone asked my why I have so many pictures of him walking away from me. It's just that it is usually difficult to get a good shot of him any other way. He's always on the move, and usually looking for the quickest way to get into trouble!

I won't be posting an Alphabitty Moments post next week as I will be on vacation. The family and I are heading to the beach for a week. Hopefully while we're there I'll have some sort of light bulb moment regarding words that start with 'U' and 'V'. For now, head over to MamaBear's campground to see what other 'T' moments are being celebrated this week.

Alphabitty Moments - The Letter S

This weeks Alphabitty Moments letter is 'S'. I almost went with 'Sisters' this week, but decided on 'Standing' instead. One of my favorite parts of the day is when Little Man wakes up and I go to get him from his crib. He is always standing with his arms outstretched reaching for me to pick him up.

These pictures were taken on a day when he kept trying and trying to stand up, and the very first time I found him standing in his crib after nap time.

We will ignore the mess in the bottom left picture. I think that was when we were rearranging, and had stuff everywhere! I cropped out all I could!
