Alphabitty Moments - The Letter J

It's Thursday, which means it Alphabitty Moments time! Alphabitty Moments is a blog carnival hosted by Mama Bear at 4 the Love of Family. She created it as a way to record and remember the little things we might otherwise forget.

This week's letter is J.

J for Jumperoo.

Little Man's jumperoo was an excellent babysitter. Oh how I wish I could still stick him in there sometimes. I could cook dinner, wash dishes, help the Princess and Sweetpea with their homework, etc., etc., and he would just jump away. He was an excellent jumper, too. Man, could he get that thing going.

And so, this week, an ode to the jumperoo. May it rest in peace!

  Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

MckMama is not posting a Not Me! yet again this week. She is anxiously awaiting news on Stellan's EKG and QT length and Right Branch Bundle Block. (I am NOT thrilled that my Googlologist/Dr. Mom skills are being enhanced by MckMama's School of Medical Terminology).

I did NOT, upon learning that I had been linked to from another blog, immediately implement a bloggy makeover. The news of that link did NOT make me think there was a chance I might have 'company', thereby necessitating the need to 'tidy up'.

I did NOT go to my annual ob/gyn check up and find out I have lost exactly ONE pound since my last exam. My last exam was NOT when my Little Man was only 6 weeks old. Surely I have lost more than ONE lousy pound of baby weight!

I did NOT at any time or for any reason use the TV to distract my Little Man so that I could have a moment's peace.

I do NOT call DJ Lance "DJ Anorexia" or think that he resembles an orange Q-tip.

I did NOT spend much of Saturday afternoon manning the Rubber Chicken Toss booth at my girls' school's Spring Carnival. (Redneck games, anyone?)

I did NOT finally finish going through all the 100's of Orange for Stellan emails I eagerly volunteered to allow into my inbox. NOT a single one of them touched my heart or brought tears to my eyes. After NOT spending time in that role as MckAssistant, I did NOT watch my DVR'd Grey's Anatomy, which was NOT about a pediatric case. I also did NOT watch the DVR'd Oprah with Matt Logelin or Extreme Makeover Home Edition. I was NOT an emotional mess the rest of the evening!!

I did NOT spend all of Sunday in my PJ's doing absolutely nothing all day long! I also did NOT enjoy all the nothingness!

Alphabitty Moments - The Letter I

Alphabitty Moments is a blog carnival started by Mama Bear at 4 the Love of Family. It's a way for us to remember the little things in our kids' lives that we might otherwise forget.

This week, we're on the letter I. There was only one option for this letter for me. My Little Man is truly Into Everything. Just today I found him with a light bulb in his mouth (he got it from the kitchen drawer he opened) and eating turkey he got from the trash can. Later I found him IN the kitchen cabinet with the pots and pans.

Oh, by the way, there are some pretty awesome give a ways going on in the blogosphere right now. Check out the one at The Meanest Mom. She has a TON of great stuff.

Kelly is giving away a cute custom made bow holder which my girls have no need for anymore :::sniff::: but it would be a perfect birthday gift for my great niece who always has a bow or two on her head!

And Lisa at Oh Boy..Oh Boy..Oh Boy has a great book give a way going on. I actually didn't even enter that one because the book seems to be geared for people who use a babysitter, and as Nana is really our only babysitter, I don't really need it. But I wanted to give Lisa a shout out anyway because she's so cool, and I'm nice like that! And no, I'm not sucking up for her next give a way or a free photo shoot if she ever visits the Sunny South. Not at all! ;)

Alphabitty Moments - The Letter H

This blog carnival was created by Mama Bear at 4 the Love of Family. It's a way to record the little things in our kids lives that we might otherwise forget.

This week, we are on the letter 'H'. I love baby hands almost as much as I love baby feet! Baby hands are just so tiny and perfect and sweet.

I took so many pictures of Little Man's hands and feet when he was an infant. My girls thought I had lost my marbles. I can't help it, I could just eat them up!

  Not Me! Monday

I know MckMama isn't Not Me!ing this week, and I haven't seen a Mr. Linky yet, but I do have some stuff to NOT confess, so I'm going ahead with my Monday post!

I did NOT feed my son left over mashed potatoes for breakfast Friday morning. I always keep a fully stocked pantry (ok, I don't have an actual pantry, but you know what I mean) and would never have to resort to such measures just to make sure he was nice and full before heading off to the beach!

I did NOT share a cinnamon roll with that same little boy this morning for breakfast. I am a health nut, why would I even have a cinnamon roll in my house?

I did NOT wake up on Easter Sunday with a migraine! I do NOT still have the migraine and have NOT vowed to just tough this one out because I am too cheap to go get my prescription for migraine medication filled. It does NOT only work half the time anyway.

I did NOT take a Vicodin (a parting gift from my sadistic oral surgeon) last night so that I could sleep through said migraine! I did NOT wake up at one point and literally feel like I was floating. I could NOT still feel the headache through the Vicodin. The floaty feeling did NOT make me not care that I was still in pain!

I do NOT get a little excited when I see new Stellan name photos in my in box! I did NOT travel to Ireland, The Grand Canyon, and Daytona Beach with Stellan this morning!

I do NOT think my kids looked absolutely adorable in their Easter get-ups yesterday.

This is NOT the only half way decent photo I have because my camera did NOT die yesterday morning. If my camera had died, I would NOT have felt like I had lost a member of the family. It is just a thing. It can be replaced, and I have NOT already thought of pulling it out four different times today.

Your turn! What did you NOT do this week?

Alphabitty Moments - The Letter G

Better late than never, right? We had a full day, and I'm just getting around to getting this posted!

This photo was taken when our Little Man was just two months old. It was one of the first times we got him to really laugh out loud. His big sisters were playing Patty Cake, and it just made him giggle for some reason!

  Not Me! Monday

I wasn't planning to post a Not Me! Monday today because I know MckMama is busy consulting with cariologists and electrophysiologists. However, Lisa decided to host Not Me! this week, so I'll join in. After all, a little brutal honesty is good for the soul.

First of all, Lisa, I do NOT have a secret either! (Nanny nanny boo boo!) And I do NOT think that since we seem to think the same thoughts on occasion, an email may be in order to make sure we don't have the same secret!

My Princess did NOT spend Friday night, all day Saturday, Saturday night and all day Sunday with her Nana. Nana did NOT pick her up this morning to take her shopping, and they did NOT call a little while later to inform me that the Princess wants to spend tonight with her too. I do NOT think that given the choice, she would choose to live with Nana and only visit us occasionally when she misses her baby brother a little too much.

The Sweetpea did NOT wake up sick again today and miss out on the Nana shopping trip. She did NOT say she thought the extreme nausea and pounding headache were probably because she didn't get enough sleep. Then again, she ONLY got nine hours, so maybe she's right.

I have NOT uploaded 106 photos to Stellan's Name Gallery over the last four days. Seriously, how would I know the exact number unless I had developed some sort of MckMama related OCD? We all know that I do NOT have the tendency to become obsessed about anything. I do NOT feel beyond honored to be able to help MckMama out in this way, and I have NOT been blown away by the amount of love, support and prayers she is receiving.

I did NOT accidentally comment on Shawna's blog while signed in as MckMama! I do NOT feel that I let MckMama down a little by not being more careful. Nor do I know that Shawna was sadly disappointed to realize it was only me and not MckMama who commented!!

Finally, I am NOT hoping and praying that Stellan's new electrophysiwhatzit Rock Star Doctor can "fix" him from afar. And if he can't, then I am NOT hoping that Stellan will be moved somewhere within driving distance so that I can meet MckMama face to face and give her a hug.

  How to Impress a Princess

There are many ways you can try to impress a seven year old Princess:

Volunteer to be room mom for her second grade class? Nope

Agree to be cookie mom for her Brownie troop?
Nada

Drag her feverish, cranky, ready for a nap baby brother to two different stores so she'll be sure to have "cool" stuff in her Easter eggs at school? Not so much

Be in charge of her class party because her teacher took the day off to go to Disney? Zilch

Hide 168 Easter eggs for her class?
No way

Help her and her friends find 164 eggs (yeah, I don't know what happened)? Nothing

Get phone call from
MckMama during the egg hunt? BINGO!!!

Why was MckMama calling me, you ask? Well when I heard through the grapevine, and by grapevine, I mean
Mama Bear, (Hi, Mama Bear!) that MckMama was in search of some help in uploading the MANY entries for Stellan's Name Gallery that her wolverines faithful prayer warriors have emailed, I jumped at the chance to help her out.

Do I know MckMama? No.

Will I ever meet her in real life? Probably not.

She's in the Frozen Tundra. I'm in the Sunny South.

But I have been reading her blog every day for months. I have prayed for her and her family, and most especially for Stellan. With about a 23 hour drive from here to there, it's not like I could whip up a chicken & rice casserole and a batch of Fat Man's Delight to drop off for her family. Not that she would allow her kids to eat Fat Man's Delight because it's not exactly health food, but it is oh so good. We Southerners tend to deal with hard times by cooking and baking and practically forcing people to eat. So, because I can't really do that in this instance, helping with the name gallery at least lets me feel like I am doing something.

So, MckMama called me during the egg hunt to let me know how to get started. Here's the conversation with the Princess that followed that phone call:

Princess: Who was that?

Me: MckMama

Princess: Who?

Me: Stellan's mom.

Princess: jaw dropped, gasped, wide eyed.....she turned to her friend
Does your mom know about Stellan?

Friend: No

Princess: look of frustration and exasperation mixed with 'you must live in a cave with no internet access'
she proceeded to tell a very condensed seven year old version of Stellan's story
ending with:

"And his mom just called MY mom.......and she's like sorta famous!"

I have to admit it was a little surreal for me to be hearing MckMama's real voice, not just the voice I have in my head when I'm reading her posts. But the look on my daughter's face and the pride in her voice was priceless.

Alphabitty Moments - The Letter F

I'm still playing catch up as I got in on this idea a little late, but for now, the letter F:

Now, normally, I HATE feet, but there is something so yummy about little bitty baby feet. I could just eat them up!! Now that my Little Man is 13 months old, he doesn't have too many more months to have to worry about Mommy eating his feet. Once he's walking a little more and gets sweaty, stinky feet, I'll gladly leave them alone.
For anyone who missed my catch up post with the letters 'A' and 'B', click here! And to see more of the letter 'F', go visit Mama Bear.
